Refill Revolution

Reduce Packaging Waste | Supports Sustainable Practices | Convenience for Campus Community | Encourages Responsible Consumption

🌿 What Is the Refill Revolution and How It Works

The Refill Revolution is a simple, sustainable shopping movement designed to reduce single-use packaging and encourage responsible consumption by letting people refill reusable containers with everyday products instead of buying new, pre-packaged ones. At the UCCS Campus Store, the process works like this: you bring your own clean, reusable container (or purchase one there), have it weighed at the register, then fill it with products like soap, lotion, body wash, bubble bath, or detergent. You take the filled container back to the cashier to determine the final weight and pay only for what you’ve filled — no extra for packaging.

This refill approach helps reduce packaging waste, supports sustainable practices, and encourages a campus community culture of thoughtful, eco-friendly consumption. Beyond your campus, refill systems worldwide follow the same core idea: keep the container, refill the contents, and minimize throw-away packaging for a greener, circular way of shopping.
