This project is intended to reduce the amount of plastic shopping bags being used by customers in the UCCS Bookstore. When a cashier ends a transaction they ask if the customer can do without a bag and explain that if they don’t take a bag they can put a token into a donation box. Each token is worth 5 cents and each year the tokens are exchanged for cash and donated to the UCCS Farm for beekeeping.
