Energy Transitions: Regional Impacts to Sustainability
Energy Transitions: Regional Impacts to Sustainability
Project Overview
Energy Transitions Week educated and supported campus and community-wide sustainability efforts related to the transition from fossil fuels to renewable regional energy systems. Students organized and promoted a campus-wide “Energy Transitions Week,” (February 12-16 (2018)) which included bringing in two speakers (Chris Nelder and David Murphy) to discuss sustainable energy transitions and record a podcast, with audience feedback, that was be made available through the Energy Transition Show website. Organization of the week included partnerships with the existing Café Scientifique lecture series, Students for Environmental Awareness & Sustainment (SEAS) and the Peak Alliance for a Sustainable Future monthly sustainability speaker series (Sustainability in Progress).
