The engineering department has seen an explosion in 3D printing, now exposing more than a hundred students a year in several classes to the process. Along with this growth, there has been a large increase in the amount of waste produced. The purchase of a filament recycler allowed them to melt this waste, which otherwise would have been thrown away, and create more material to be used in the printers.
