Currently, students, faculty and staff in the ROTC area did not have the ability to fill reusable water containers from a sustainable source. Restroom sinks are not an ideal water source, nor are they tall enough for most refillable containers. A hose bib outside the building is used by Athletics to fill ice baths but is also not an ideal water source. A water bottle refill fountain could encourage sustainable behavior among UCCS students, faculty and staff. The Cadets spend on average, 8 hours in the area per week between Physical Training, lecture and occasionally lab. Faculty and staff assigned to the department are there for at least 40 hours. They rented a water cooler, with 5-gallon water bottles delivered monthly, for use by faculty/staff and visitors to our area. A water bottle filler/fountain in the student Cadet common area in the building, discontinued their water delivery service.
