This is a student and faculty led research project. The purpose of this research project is twofold. First, it will test the hypothesis that UCCS is the most sustainable campus of the UC system, as measured by resource consumption and waste generation performance metrics. Second, it will test correlations between the UC system campuses sustainability initiatives and environmental performance, also measured by resource consumption and waste generation performance metrics. Institutions of higher education have invested in sustainability initiatives and suggest that such initiatives are good proxies for their environmental performance.
